laidout has a 5 year rule in that no album released in the last 5 years is included for review. This is a sort of cooling off period to try and avoid the Be Here Now effect, where in the white heat of it’s release Oasis’s anticipated album was consistently overpraised. A 5 year moratorium should allow for less furious hype and overselling of 3 day wonders.
Anything that can still retain its magnesium flare after 5 years is worth hearing about.
Therefore: Any album released up to, and including, 2003 is up for review.
